In the meantime, Embodme has greatly increased the number of buttons in a layout, so you can make a lot of 2x2 buttons . Here's one you can just stick on an unused layout slot that'll get you 120 Programs in bank 1.
It's a good starter if you want to squeeze the buttons a little closer and add some sliders like a volume slider (CC07), and the last 7 programs.
I use the API to use sliders change programs, and it's not the most precise way to get the program you need!
A nice feature would be to have the sliders have major and minor "tick marks", to help you pick a more precise value, although you'd have to make sure the slider values and ticks were in synch, so the range of values at the longest size would be constrained to a maximum of 42 spots.

A slider to change the program would make jumping around presets much easier. Erae already supports PC messages, this would just let sliders/faders send them too.
